Ten Tips for Framing Artwork
- Narrow mats create a busy target. Do not be afraid of large mat borders.
- Do not try to match room colors exactly.
- The framing should not overpower the art
- Hang pictures at eye level.
- You can mix frames of different colors and diverse styles in the same room.
- Reframe pictures and re-use frames: maybe just a new mat might enliven the work.
- Use plexiglass in childrens' rooms.
- If color is critical, please bring paint and fabric samples to the frame shop.
- TV shows and magazines offer great ideas.
- Ask questions at the frame shop! We work to help you achieve the best result.
